About Alloy 82

Alloy 82 is a filler metal consisting mainly of Nickel (>67%), Chrome and Iron. Alloy 82 has high strength and good corrosion resistance, including oxidation resistance and creep-rupture strength at elevated temperatures.

Uses

Alloy 82 weld wire is used in submerged arc and plasma arc welding of Nickel based alloys such as Alloy 600, Alloy 601 and Alloy 690 and high temperature stainless steels such as Alloy 330, Alloy 800 and Alloy 800HT. Welding applications include joining Nickel based alloys or stainless steels to each other or to carbon steel, stainless steel or high Nickel based steels.

Alloy 82 is popular as it is a “one stop shop” used for welding all grades of Nickel Alloys.
